Roadmap

The Climate mitigation transition plan outlines where emissions occur (scope 1, 2, and 3) and what measures are needed. The plan focuses on two main pillars:

  • Sustainable dairy farming, with attention to methane reduction and other improvements.
  • Greener production at company sites, through electrification, renewable energy, and energy efficiency.

The roadmap provides clarity and direction for the climate policy of Vreugdenhil in the coming years.

Visual communication

To make the plans practical and accessible for dairy farmers and employees, emissions and measures are presented visually. Because only through collaboration with suppliers, employees, and other stakeholders can Vreugdenhil truly take steps toward reducing its climate footprint.

Prepared for climate risks

The qualitative climate risk analysis maps out what climate change means for Vreugdenhil’s value chain. Based on two climate scenarios (1.5°C and 4°C), risks such as drought, water stress, and changing regulations have been identified. These insights will guide further decisions in Vreugdenhil’s risk management strategy in 2025.

Solid foundation for climate action

With this transition plan and risk analysis, Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods has laid a solid foundation to achieve its emission reduction targets and strategically prepare for climate change. A logical next step in building a future-proof dairy chain – both today and tomorrow: Care for tomorrow.
