Stakeholder Engagement
Connecting with stakeholders. Change with impact.
Schuttelaar & Partners supports companies, governments and organisations in the stakeholder process (from analysis to engagement) using its unique “S&P” approach, by building alliances and organising participation processes. We do this based on more than 30 years of experience in the fields of agriculture, food, health and the living environment.
Stakeholder processes are in our DNA; they are the origin of our company. We are strategic forward thinkers and doers who always work on the basis of facts and knowledge.
For us, stakeholder engagement is a process of actively involving stakeholders in an organisation's mission, strategy, project or policy. It goes beyond simply providing information; it is about listening, connecting and collaborating. This not only creates greater support, but also accelerates system transitions and strengthens a brand and reputation.
We support companies, governments and other organisations with our unique ‘S&P’ approach throughout the entire stakeholder process, from analysis to engagement and alliance building. We combine substantive knowledge with strategic communication, enabling us to identify, inform, engage and activate the right stakeholders.
Our stakeholder engagement services are suitable for organisations that want to respond to complex social issues in agriculture, food, health and the living environment. Whether you are a multinational, SME, sector or interest group, NGO, local or national government, we can help you navigate and transform.
Together with the client, we determine the objective and context of the stakeholder process, including any KPIs, in order to provide insight into the success of the strategy.
Using our new, unique tool, we identify all relevant stakeholders and analyse their interests, influence and role, and on that basis select the priority (clusters of) stakeholders.
We develop a tailor-made strategy to effectively engage and inform stakeholders, tailored to their interests and influence. Through active dialogue, co-creation and building alliances, we ensure genuine engagement, sustainable collaborations and participation aimed at gaining support.
We measure the impact and adjust the strategy where necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
Through powerful stakeholder engagement, we want to drive social transitions: from sustainable food production to healthier lifestyles and policies that enjoy broad support. We want to strengthen partnerships, bridge divides, help companies make real progress in the areas of sustainability and health, and support governments in developing policies that are supported by their citizens.
In recent years, we have used stakeholder management to build tangible bridges between businesses, governments and civil society organisations. A few examples:
In the provinces of Zeeland and Friesland and in the municipalities of Ede and The Hague, we worked with all stakeholders and citizens to develop food policy.
For the Arable Farming Biodiversity Monitor, we coordinated the interaction with various stakeholders – such as arable farmers, research partners, Rabobank, WWF and the province of Groningen – to jointly develop a workable monitor for biodiversity.
For the municipality of Rotterdam, a large-scale, hybrid participation process was used to develop a widely supported ambition document containing all the “ifs, buts, wishes and preferences” for the development of the Schiehaven Noord area. This document maps out the type of area that those involved want to realise (or have realised) in the future; the proverbial dot on the horizon.
A strong team is ready to start.
