Vaccinations for society
Vaccines are an extremely effective way to prevent infectious diseases and ensure public health. Vaccination protects individuals as well as populations from serious illnesses and complications. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the availability of effective vaccines and high vaccination rates became the key to saving lives, keeping healthcare systems operational and returning to open and economically strong societies. At the same time, measuring vaccination coverage, vaccine acceptance, safety and effectiveness became crucial to determine the success of vaccination programmes.
From research to conference
The study team performed a literature review, conducted a Europe-wide survey and interviews, and held a workshop with internationally renowned experts. Finally, we organise a conference for vaccination programme managers from all European countries to validate and enhance the recommendations developed.
