Environment
Biodiversity and its restoration are urgent issues, and many companies are already putting this into practice with policies, targets, and measures. Thanks to increasingly clear guidelines, companies now have a good understanding of the impact of biodiversity, how to measure it, and how to improve it. With methods available for monitoring biodiversity and striving for a basic quality of nature, organizations can work specifically on biodiversity restoration. This approach is in line with the goals of the European Nature Restoration Regulation, which provides additional direction and ambition.
More and more companies are also discovering how a revenue model for biodiversity can add value. In short, the knowledge and resources to structurally strengthen biodiversity are there. It is now mainly a matter of applying them.
Schuttelaar & Partners helps companies make biodiversity tangible and translate it into concrete policy and effective measures. We do this on the basis of internationally recognized frameworks such as SBTi FLAG, SBTN, and the Accountability Framework initiative. In addition, we are working in a broader context on even better measurement methods and measures so that we can collectively improve our actions on this important issue. We do this through our work as the program office of the Delta Plan for Biodiversity Recovery.
We have developed an approach to make biodiversity tangible for companies based on recognized frameworks and in line with legal (reporting) requirements. This approach addresses both pressure factors (negative impact) and plus factors (positive difference for biodiversity). After all, they influence biodiversity. In addition, we align with the most recent insights from the field in the area of managing conditions rather than individual species. Our approach gives you insight into how you influence biodiversity, sets concrete, achievable goals, helps embed biodiversity in company policy, and allows us to show that the measures you take have an impact!
