Hague Energy Summit

First, we laid the foundation for the communication, with core values, a core message, and answers to the questions in the city. In this, we were honest about the complexity and emphasised action.

Part of our approach was organszing The Hague Energy Summit. During the summit, 19 different parties put their signatures to their joint ambition: to make 25,000 homes climate-neutral in the coming years. This happened in the presence of Joris Wijsmuller, the alderman for sustainability, and members of the press.

Energy safari

To introduce sustainable energy to the public, we organised the Hague Energy Safari. At 15 locations, visitors saw where clean energy is generated. For example, in the Hague Geothermal Power Plant, on the roof of the Uithof or in the power station. Visitors also talked to residents who had already made their homes energy neutral. Furthermore, several residents' initiatives showed how they are making their neighbourhoods more sustainable. By showing what is already being done, we distilled a sense of pride in and action perspective for the residents of The Hague.
