From double materiality analysis to ESG-report
As in previous years, we have collaborated with EPG in developing the sustainability report. This year EPG proudly writes about the impact of Euro Pool System, the crates: where they have worked on their energy efficiency by lowering the washing temperatures of the crates and using energy-efficient equipment. In addition, EPG writes about the impact that La Palette Rouge has made, the pallets, by making transport more sustainable. With their sustainability report they communicate about their commitment to promoting circularity in the chain.
In 2023, we supported the execution of a double materiality assessment, and in the years since, they have continued to build on this foundation. We jointly initiated this sustainability report with a fit/gap analysis. This led to an overview of opportunities to already report on several topics this year, fully aligned with the ESRS. As a result, they chose to undergo a limited assurance audit by an external auditor this year, specifically for the chapters on climate change and water.
The 2024 report has been prepared based on the framework that is presented in the ESRS, the reporting standards under the CSRD (the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), making the report structured and clearly based on the double materiality perspective.
