Action plan for sustainable food from Fryslân

The agricultural sector in Fryslân has a unique position in the Netherlands. Almost 10 percent of the Frisian working population works in the agricultural sector. The interests of agriculture, nature, landscape elements and recreation are strongly intertwined. The need for a progressive agricultural policy which takes these values into account as well as the interests of various stakeholders , is therefore strong in Fryslân.

Transition to sustainable agriculture

After consultation with farmers and many other stakeholders, Schuttelaar & Partners drafted the Action Plan for the Agriculture Agenda 2021-2030 (in Dutch) at the request of the province of Friesland. The plan contains nine concrete action points on which to focus until 2030. The ultimate goal is a transition to sustainable agriculture that is future-proof in terms of ecology, economy, social conditions and quality of the environment.
