Well-regulated for the EUDR

The EU Deforestation Act will take effect on December 30, 2025, and requires companies to demonstrate - through due diligence - that products have been produced without deforestation. The law distinguishes between operators and traders. D-drinks is legally considered a trader and, as an SME, faces far fewer regulations. However, D-drinks works with all leading retailers, and those companies are subject to the extensive regulations. It was therefore crucial to find the right balance between instilling confidence in customers and ensuring the right arrangements are in place, without taking on too much responsibility.

Thanks to the joint project, all D-Drinks employees are well-informed, effective communication with suppliers has been established, and D-Drinks is prepared for the EUDR.

All the ins and outs at a glance

D-Drinks had already thoroughly researched the EUDR but appreciated having an extra pair of eyes monitoring the preparations.

Our work consisted of the following steps:

  • Checking that the products in the D-Drinks range were within the scope of the EUDR.
  • Drafting clear communication for suppliers.
  • Creating a one-pager and extensive Q&A about the EUDR.
  • Answering ad hoc questions about the EUDR, for example, regarding packaging and pallets.
