Ministry of LNVFootprints for “foodprints”The Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV) has the ambition of making The Netherlands one of the frontrunners in sustainable food production and consumption within the next 15 years. Determining the environmental footprint of food production and consumption – commonly referred to as “foodprinting” – may play a significant role in ensuring this development. In this light, Schuttelaar & Partners’ Brussels office has helped the Ministry to explore footprinting developments – both internationally and within The Netherlands, with the aim of identifying whether these can help create a more sustainable food supply and consumption chain, and provide clear information to consumers. |
