Jup van ’t VeldSustainability, Nutrition & HealthJup van ’t Veld, trained in chemistry at Utrecht University, has extensive experience in areas such as food, health and safety, corporate social responsibility, and the environment. He has held positions at the largest trade union in The Netherlands (FNV Bondgenoten) and the Netherlands Nutrition Centre, and has been an active voice in environmental groups and green politics in The Netherlands. At Schuttelaar & Partners, Jup specializes in process management, issue and crisis management, and corporate social responsibility. He currently oversees the international Choices Program, an industry initiative aimed at a front-of-pack health logo on food products based on scientific evaluation. Annejet PetteSustainability and CSRAnnejet studied International Business Management in Groningen and Paris (MSc), specialising in Corporate Social Responsibility. She has previously worked at the OECD on guidelines for MNEs, as well as for ammado.com – a web 2.0 platform for socially responsible companies and nonprofit organisations. She has much experience in setting up foundations and multi-stakeholder partnerships. Ilse StraverNutrition & health, crisis communicationsIlse studied health and nutrition majoring in health promotion at Wageningen University. She has worked for S&P since April 2003. Ilse is experienced in stakeholder communication and specialises in issue and crisis management. She is member of the S&P crisis team and contact person the European Crisis Management Partnership (ECMP). Dieter CoolsNutrition & HealthDieter studied dietetics at Leuven University College before broadening his horizon towards Nutrition & Health at Wageningen University and Research Centre in The Netherlands. Edwin HeckerTechnology & SocietyEdwin studied Business Management and Animal Breeding at the University of Wageningen, and went on to obtain the NIMA B (Marketing) Diploma. He began working for the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture in 1987, where he worked on animal welfare, hormone legislation and veterinary guarantee systems. In 1997 he was appointed Chairman of the Codex Committee on Food Additives and Contaminants, a position he held until 2003. Edwin was appointed Deputy Director of the Department of Veterinary and Food Affairs in 2000, and ad Director of the Minister’s office in 2003. At Schuttelaar & Partners, Edwin is on the Board of Directors and responsible for the Technology & Society Unit. Rutger SchilpzandFood and Nutrition, Stakeholder DialogueA nutritionist by training, Rutger Schilpzand focuses on international food and nutrition issues. He is co-author of a 2004 book exploring the possibilities of stakeholder dialogue on long-term, strategic issues. Rutger has a long history in communications and NGO activities. He was a science writer and worked with Oxfam Novib and consumer organizations. In 1986, he founded the Clean Clothes Campaign. Currently, he is president and co-initiator of the School feeding Initiative Ghana-Netherlands (SIGN). He is an advisor to Wageningen University on its nutrition curriculum. Ronald HielSustainable Supply ChainsTrained in economics and marketing at Wageningen University and Research Centre, Ronald Hiel focuses on sustainable and socially responsible supply chains, whether it’s for food or biofuels. He frequently interacts with many stakeholders, including non-governmental organisations. Before joining Schuttelaar & Partners, Ronald was managing director and head of public affairs at the Dutch Product Board for Margarine, Fats and Oils. Clémence RobinFood and NutritionClémence studied in Paris, her native city, before taking up courses in European studies in Amsterdam as part of an Erasmus exchange. She graduated from a MA in European Public Affairs at Maastricht University. In Brussels, Clémence worked at CDPF, an association of French representatives to the European Union and EGTA, a European broadcast advertising trade association. At Schuttelaar & Partners, Clémence focuses on the Choices Programme, both on the national and on the international level. Nathalie de Borchgrave d’AltenaTechnology & Society, CommunicationsNathalie studied Political Science at the University of Louvain, after moving to Belgium from British-Columbia, Canada. She graduated with an MA in International Relations, and has worked for a human rights NGO and a press agency in Belgrade. More recently she worked for The Conference Board, an international business membership and research organisation. Marcel SchuttelaarFounder & CEOTrained in Human Nutrition at Wageningen University and Research Centre, Marcel Schuttelaar is managing director of Schuttelaar & Partners. At the firm, he focuses on strategic consulting and issue & crisis management. Before launching Schuttelaar & Partners, Marcel Schuttelaar managed public campaigns for Friends of the Earth Netherlands (Vereniging Milieudefensie) and Consumentenbond, the largest Dutch consumer group. He helped launch a non-profit organisation focusing on consumers and biotechnology, as well as Max Havelaar, a leading certifier of international fair trade.
